  1. Everyone deserves to treat themselves to this wonderful creation. Following the recipe as closely as possible the loaf came out of the oven looking an illustration from the book. Heavily scented with fennel and fig and a whisp of toasted rye. It had a nice open crumb, a texture that was just chewy enough and a crisp crunchy crust that reminded you you were eating something very special. This recipe was worth the price of the book.
